Yesterday, Today...

The first hotel you meet coming in the downtown Rodi Garganico is Villa Americana Park Hotel: what an intrigued name for an italian hotel, isn’t it?!
The reason of it finds its roots in the italo-american origin of the family that runs the business. Our grandfather, Giuseppe Apicella, was born in Rodi Garganico and moved to the U.S.A. in the first years of the twentieth century. It was only 17 years old. There he got married and had 3 children.
Once back to Italy, he went to live with his family in a house surrounded by citrus trees, just outside the city centre of Rodi. At the time, there were no toponyms to identify places and streets yet; therefore, people used to refer to that house as “Villa Americana”, from "Peppino the American", that is to say grandfather Giuseppe.
Through the time the family property has been used as an ice factory, as rent houses and even as a cinema: Cinema Imperiale has been the only cinema ever built in Rodi.
In 1993 we realize a small hotel that have been growing during the years and it’s still growing at the present. In these years of activity in the tourism industry, the hospitality job has become a real passion for us, a job that satisfy us day by day, as we could see that our efforts produce a very rewarding result: give to our Guests an unforgivable stay at Villa Americana.

If you are still reading these last lines, it means you have had the patience, kindness and perhaps the curiosity to know our story and this is enough to thank you with all our heart for the precious time you have dedicated to us.
Here we can’t stop thinking about new ideas and plans for the future. Among the last goals achieved we can boast the building of Lido Malibù, the private wooden bathing establishment, which has been completed and opened in summer 2008. We’re really proud of it as it immediately completed our offer, becoming the second centre of activity, entertainment and joy for our Guests’ holiday.
Actually our efforts are just at the beginning. In fact, the next future will see the realization of a pleasant, relaxing and charming wellnes SPA.
If tomorrow you will take the opportunity to come over and visit Gargano and us, this cold electronic contact could become an opportunity to turn it into a very human relationship which, as often happens with many of our Guests, has then become a real and close friendship.
